A Boutique Hotel in Sonoma: Farmhouse Inn

Farmhouse Inn is a luxury boutique hotel in Sonoma with a Michelin star restaurant

Farmhouse Inn, A Boutique Hotel in Sonoma, is an Easy Road Trip from Los Angeles

On a recent road trip to Mendocino, a ten hour drive from LA, we stopped for one night in wine country to break up the trip. Farmhouse Inn, a luxury boutique hotel in Sonoma, had been on my list since learning of their Michelin starred restaurant and quaint, accommodations. It did not disappoint!

With a feather bed, sommelier curated wine fridge in-room, s’mores by the fire pit, and a kitty named Charlotte who roams the grounds like she owns the place, this charming Sonoma inn almost made us forget it’s 2020.

This is Farmhouse Inn and it’s my next Stylish Stay.

What I Loved: To be fair, it’s 2020. There’s not much I DIDN’T love about being away from home, pampered in a luxury hotel for a change. But, they have truly gone above and beyond to make your time here feel as “normal” as possible during a pandemic.

Something to Know: The restaurant is not open for indoor dining right now. It was 112 degrees, so we decided to have the tasting menu delivered to our room. After all, they have a Michelin star.  It felt so decadent and indulgent! The spa is not currently open due to COVID.

Suite Dreams: We loved our incredibly luxurious room and huge bathroom (we got upgraded to a junior suite thanks to our travel agent Two Nights In). The interior design is rustic chic and feels at once luxurious and comfortable.

Stylish Sips: They have a wine hour every day outside the lobby at 5pm with a local vintner. We loved the wine so much we bought two bottles that didn’t even make it home ;).

Cool Factor: This is an independent hotel and the owner is usually around to take guests on hikes. That didn’t happen due to the fires (not to mention the heat), but I’ve since heard such nice things about him.

Hero Shot Anywhere on property, wine glass in hand!

Th Michelin star restaurant is the cornerstone of the property. Much like our beloved Pig hotel in England, boldly (and deserving) declaring itself a restaurant with rooms.

Make your own S’mores is such a charming idea! Just save room if you order the tasting menu. We were stuffed!

The kitty, Charlotte was so friendly, she walked us back to our room the first day. I almost invited her in!

We loved our lunch maybe even more than the dinner! Highly recommend if you’d like to experience the restaurant without breaking the bank.

If you’re looking for a boutique hotel in Sonoma, this is the place!
