Back in October, I was invited to appear on a panel for the first ever Digital Citizenship Summit that took place at Twitter HQ with my friend Brianna Brown. I was humbled and excited to have been asked, so despite that it fell on either end of two weddings—one in Miami and one in Kauai—up we flew to San Francisco for 24 hours! The last half of last year was so crazy that I just realized I never shared photos from our time there. Here’s a little look at where we stayed, and where we played. If you read till the end, you’ll be rewarded with the video of our actual panel ;).
First things first—let’s talk about the hotel! This was my third time staying at The Palace, which is part of The Luxury Collection, only now it is newly renovated. I remembered being stunned on my first visit that they gave you a plastic cup in the bathroom, and I am happy to report that this time, it’s nothing but fine crystal for your discerning taste.
The bed was amazing, and now that I have a Tempur-Pedic memory foam mattress at home, I am hard to please.

But let’s get back to why we were here in the first place! The Digital Citizenship Summit is all about sparking collaboration and positive digital change. A huge part of this is education, and how we can teach people to be responsible digital citizens—especially on social media. And while I was really curious to learn a thing or two and share ideas, I was equally as curious (and excited!) to see inside Twitter HQ. We spent the day on one floor, and it’s surprisingly very corporate.

We were asked to share a Tweetable takeaway to close the panel. Mine was “The digital community is just that, a community. Connect w/ others, reach out, share ideas. But never has the Golden Rule been more relevant.”
