Romantic Getaways Near Los Angeles

Romantic Getaways Near Los Angeles

Last week I took a little road trip up to Santa Barbara to visit my bestie Jenn at her family’s beach house that literally sits right on the sand. Not only was she my partner in business, but also my partner in crime, and having her move all the way to Dallas has been one of the bigger heartbreaks of my life.

We had a magical day full of laughs over lunch at C’est Cheese, where we split a cheese board and Muffuletta, because she and I have exactly the same taste. She even humored me by taking a walking tour of Belmond El Encanto, a hotel that I have wanted to visit for so long. If anything, this day reminded me the importance of quality time with girlfriends, AND that there are so many hidden gems within driving distance from LA. Scroll down to see what’s topping my list of bucket list worthy romtantic getaways near los angles.

Once upon a time when I first started working in retail (and met Karen), our manager was a lady named Sheree. Her marriage was in trouble and she was planning a getaway with her husband to see if this marriage could be saved. My mother had always been in love with El Encanto (as it was known then), and although I’d never seen it, I suggested it. Sheree took my advice and has not stopped raving about it since…though I’ve yet to make it there lol! Now it’s way gentrified from the way it was then, but I’m sure it’s still fab! One of my bffs’ daughter is starting UCSB this month, so I am foreseeing a bucket list item ticked off in the very near future.

  2. No way!! I really want to stay there–it’s so $$$, so I had to go get a preview to see if it’s worth it. I think it is! 😉
