Fall is my favorite time of year. There’s something romantic about the changing of seasons—the looming death of summer leaving behind shallow days and frivolous nights for a more serious path of purpose and reflection. I got married in October. Eight years ago, in fact, this October 16th. It was the most joyful autumn day, surrounded by those we love most. Like most couples, we have had exceptional years and exceptionally hard years, but we find that embracing things we like to do together keeps the joy alive. As you know, we love to travel, and our anniversary is another excuse to visit some of our country’s best cities. We’ve done Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, New York and Boston, and this year we’re eyeing Chicago. Of course cooler weather and a killer food scene makes this a no brainer for us, but it’s really Ian Schrager’s Public Hotel that has me curious. They are celebrating their anniversary too—their first, so it’s still new by hotel standards. Check out their fun video celebrating PDA in the Windy City’s most iconic locations and the gorgeous photos. I’d be happy to get a room and kiss in Public. What about you??

Loved this! However, I think you’ve got it backwards, Molly. One needs to kiss in public (to the point of someone thinking “hey, get a room” and THEN they are awarded the room!!!
Nice writing Tom!
