My Bar Cart Obsession

I’m beyond delighted to report that I am the proud new owner of this gorgeous vintage bar cart! I’ve been obsessing over bar carts since “Mad Men” brought back the cocktail hour (to the office)I have scoured Etsy, Craigslist and 1st dibs for at least three years and last week my dear friend Jenn surprised me with an early birthday gift. I mean…what a GIFT (thanks a million, Jenn)!  Please join me in drinking to that!

The “real” photo

Setting up a bar cart can be a challenge. I found it helpful to pick one color (blue) and then add neutrals. I mixed high end glasses (Waterford Old Fashioned) with vintage blue ones. For everyday use, I picked only a few of my favorite liquor bottles to display. When I have a party, I can stock it for more practical use. The lemons were just props. It’s definitely a work in progress! For cocktail recipes, check out Mrs. Lilien’s Styling House blog for so many great options like the “Brunch in a Cup.”
