Where to Stay in Tulum: Be Tulum
Over ten years ago, my sister-in-law told us about her trip to Mexico in a secret, off the beaten path, tropical paradiseโfull of affordable ecolodges, and pristine beaches on the Yucatan Peninsula. She was talking about Tulum, and while it still offers all of those things, it has become one of the hottest destinations on this side of the world. Bohemian at its core, you will still find a rustic charm that pays homage to the beauty of the surroundings, where the people there care very much about being in harmony with nature.
And there is no better way to experience such a place than at a ย luxury boutique hotel that feels as if it grew out of the jungle and dropped you at the point where sand meets sea. They offer stylish suites with private plunge pools, a world class spa with daily yoga, and the best fish tacos I’ve ever eaten. Oh and their chef has a Michelin Star.
Bienvenido a Be Tulum, a very Stylish Stay.
A Luxury Boutique Hotel on the Beach
What I Love:ย THE FOOD. But that is cheating since every single morsel we ate on this trip was the best thing we’ve ever eaten. We also loved that this beautiful hotel is like a little piece of luxury in a bohemian jungle. We loved the spa so much, we went back a second time.
Something to Know: Be Tulum doesn’t have a hot tub and our plunge pool was ice cold. But those are high class problems! While the hotel does a great job of trying to manage the mosquito situation (burning copal, giving out eco-friendly bug spray), I recommend you order your own, and get the strong stuffโyou’ll need it!
Suite Dreams:ย Our room (the Tierra Suite) was gorgeously styled and opened up into our own private plunge pool and outdoor bathtub, which I did use once if you must know. The bed was perfect and I slept like a baby every night. Or maybe that was the tequila singing me a lullaby!
Stylish Sips:ย The food and cocktails were so incredible that we hardly wanted to leave the hotel, and in fact, only left for dinner. Breakfast was included in our stay, where we could order anything we wanted from the menu including frothy green juices, iced lattes, and my favorite, Huevos Rancheros that I ate overlooking the ocean every morning.
Cool Factor: Be Tulum isย THE hotel right now in Tulum. I would even go as far as to say it’s the best hotel in Tulum. While small and private, it is a place to see and be seen (if you so choose). Every person there looked like they were an Instagram photo come to life. #nofilter
Hero Shot:ย Either of the two infinity pools at Golden Hour or fish tacos on the beach.
