New Year Edition

Sunday Edition of This Yuppie Life

Happy New Year, everybody! Hope you had a great holiday and are finding it easy to get back in the swing of things. While I always love going back East to see family, it’s always nice to come home, undecorate, and get myself all situated to start the first week back to work with a bang. While I’m not one to focus too much on resolutions, I have given a lot of thought to the goals I want to accomplish this year, and how I want to best spend my time. Here are a few thoughts on that, and some other things I’m loving lately.

As you may know, I am in a goal-group called The New Hollywood. It’s a non-profit created by my friend Brianna Brown, with the mission to “Rise Higher, Shine Brighter, and Give Back”. We have always had a guidebook, but this is the very first year it is available to the public. Order your copy of Manifesting Your Mission here and join us on a journey of purpose and passion.

This hotel is now on my bucket list.

I’m so excited that Season 3 of Love Sick just dropped on Netflix! It’s a British romcom with a very cheeky premise.

Today are the Golden Globes here in LaLaLand! How The Big Sick wasn’t nominated is beyond me, but I think Gary Oldman has it in the bag for The Darkest Hour. Who are you routing for? Also, a Proust-style Q&A with my favorite celebrity makeup artist Rosie Jane Johnson, so you too can get red carpet ready.

I mentioned in my last post that we were going to start the Whole30 diet in January. Well, it’s day four and THIS IS REALLY HARD. I have a headache, I feel like I’m going to faint, and I haven’t decided yet if this is worth it! Ha! My husband, however, isn’t finding it that hard, which makes me love him, but also really not like him at the moment!!  This Whole30 Zucchini Noodle Bolognese has been my favorite recipe so far.

  1. I haven’t had the opportunity to try Whole30, mostly because I believe I would have the same symptoms as you! Good luck! Another one to try that might be easier is Tone It up’s 5 day detox. I’m trying that this week and I like all the recipes so far.

  2. Yeah I’m just about ready to do my own modifciations. It’s just not that worth it not to be able to function. My diet isn’t that bad to begin with. I’ll check out Tone it Up, thanks!!
