All Decked Out

‘Either I could behave like a real rock-and-roll loser, and get drunk with my fat manager, or when I hang up I’ll be flooded by invitations to a large number of glamorous parties.’ – Billy Mack, “Love Actually”

It’s so rare that we get all gussied up in LA. Aside from the occasional red carpet work thing, I pretty much live in jeans. Holiday parties are the exception, and each year my women’s philanthropy/goal group, The New Hollywood, throws its Hollywood Gives soiree at the W Hotel to benefit Toys for Tots. When we were asked to wear black with a pop of red this year, I envisioned myself in a black lace Valentino gown off the runway draped in Van Cleef and Arpels obviously. But then I remembered we had to pay for planes, trains & automobiles hotels for our holiday trip back east to three states in 10 days, so I put myself on a little budget (I know, the horror). I was so pleased with this look for less, I thought it might give you some inspiration as you flit from fete to fete.

That’s it from me for 2015. I’m signing off until the New Year, when I’ll be sure to share details of our travels, including a new hotel I’m excited to visit in NYC. Until then, would love you to follow along and come say hi on social. Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas!

Lace Skater Dress (Zara, If your budget allows for Valentino) // Shoes (Carmen Steffens – this is my secret weapon. These shoes are made in Brazil and are always something really special for way less than the major designer brands. There is a location at Hollywood & Highland and I always ask to see shoes they have in the back that might not be on the floor. See my other pair here, which I wear ALL the time.) Similar shoes (here)// Purse (similar here and here and exact one in bluea splurge) // Rings (Ice Twister Ring, Vita Fede Crystal Titan Ring)
