Salt & Straw Opens on Larchmont
Have you heard? A new gourmet ice cream shop has landed on Larchmont Blvd. But, not just any ice cream shop.
Salt & Straw, made famous in Portland for their locally sourced ingredients and sometimes rather wacky flavors like this Avocado Strawberry Sherbet I couldn’t resist.
It has caused quite the stir in the neighborhood, with lines sometimes looping around the block. “Fall” in L.A. is definitely on their side.
The shop itself is quite charming—packed with way more than just gourmet ice cream.
With a choice between their new Autumnal Flavors like Stumptown Coffee & Burnside Bourbon aand Seasalt with Caramel Ribbons to their Classic Flavors like Tomato Water and Ojai Olive Oil Sherbet and Cinnamon Snickerdoodle.
And look! They use salt from The Meadow, the most perfect little gourmet shop I visited on our trip to Portland.
Can’t wait to see how they’re inspired in L.A….perhaps a Pink’s Hotdog flavor or Kogi BBQ flavor? Yeah, I probably don’t have a future as an ice cream flavor inventor.
Though I did hear they offer quite a Thanksgiving feast with flavors like Sweet Pea, Cranberry, Turkey & Dressing.
If that’s not your thing, may I suggest the ever indulgent Chocolate Gooey Brownie. It’s pretty freaking killer.

but you didn’t bring home any indulgent Chocolate Gooey Brownie… or did you!?!?!
I can’t wait to try this place! But I have to be honest, I do love my Sweet Rose Creamery!
I do love Sweet Rose Creamery too…best mint chip I have to say. This place is totally different, so definitely try it! 🙂
