Oh friends, do I have a bar experience for you. I say experience because this isn’t just a pop on over, come as you are dive bar. This is a make a reservation (small parties only), be escorted up a spiraling staircase to a secret room above Scarpetta and bring your Black Card because they have a shot waiting for you for $64,000. Welcome to £10 at the Montage in Beverly Hills.
Once seated outside in our own little area with balcony views of the Beverly Canon gardens, our private bartender gave a very serious presentation of their very exclusive ice menu—each frozen masterpiece presented in a glass, where you could handpick a large sphere, a small cube or your heart’s desire. You really couldn’t go wrong. All were made from water imported from Scotland.
I skipped the shot because I much prefer to hang on to that house down payment (and my good sense), but our bartender made me a special gin concoction table-side in the most insane glass I’ve ever seen. And then I spilled it in Jason’s lap so they brought me another one (complimentary!). Drinks start at $30, ironically well above £10. And there is a $50 per head minimum. So, you know, a cheap every night kind of place.

At the strike of midnight, the bar shut down before we could turn into pumpkins—gotta keep it classy. But, they brought all the ladies a long stemmed rose to send us on our way.
