Weekending

Happy Sunday from Los Angeles! The countdown has begun for my big European birthday extravaganza. We leave in less than two weeks for the U.K. and Paris, and I’m so excited, I can hardly stand it! While there are definitely new places I look forward to trying in London, I’ve learned that what makes me the happiest is returning to the neighborhood that most feels like home. I love that we go to the same Indian restaurant the very first night we land. I love the way my favorite hotel smells when I walk through the front door. I love that when all else fails, Le Pain Quotidian is just around the corner. While I may never get to live there full-time, London is most definitely my city soulmate, and I feel so lucky that I find a way to visit as often as I do. Is there a place you like to return to over and over?

In other news, I’ve been so busy trying to get the consulting part of my business officially up and running, that I’ve been a little behind with writing my regular posts. I’ll be sharing my guide to Charleston later this week, so stay tuned.

In the meantime, here are some things I’ve been loving lately, and some interesting links from around the web.

I am so OBSESSED with these shoes for only $40, that I bought them in two colors (Steel Grey is my favorite). My most stylish friend Karen was wearing them on our trip to Golden Door, and I immediately bought them. I’ll be dedicating a post to them soon, but get them before they’re gone!

My friend Catherine recently made these gorgeous black margaritas, and I have bookmarked them to make for my next party. I mean, wouldn’t they be perfect for Halloween entertaining??

This is my favorite new(ish) restaurant in Los Angeles. I took photos recently and will be sharing more about it soon.

Everybody is talking about mircoblading. My friend Lindsay Albanese shows you what that is right here.

We just finished watching this show on Netflix and loved it. Have you seen it? People seem to either love it or hate it!

I just bought this book to take on my trip. What have you read lately that you’ve loved?

Speaking of books, have you downloaded my free e-book yet?

This tech CEO gives his employees $7500 to take a vacation! Can you imagine how great that would be?!

As a HUGE fan of chef Ottolenghi, I’m so happy Middle Eastern ingredients are becoming all the rage.

I’m going to be so upset that my vacation is over when you still have yours to look forward to! We will have to get together when you return to catch up and compare notes. Have the very best time! And was that our Karen whose shoes you fell in love with?
