The Culver Hotel

As far as hotels in Culver City go, there is no better option than the historic, Culver Hotel.

Culver Hotel, Los Angeles

It is with so much excitement and great fanfare that I introduce to you my first official “Stylish Stay,” a new editorial showcasing my favorite stylish hotels mixed with fashion. Hotels in this category will have high standards of excellence in the following categories: attention to detailservice, design, and style.

It’s no secret that I have a thing for luxury boutique hotels—after all, my very first blog post nine years ago was about the luxury boutique hotel The Cranley in London quickly followed by the Duc du St. Simon in Paris. But it seemed only fitting that I begin this story in my own city of Los Angeles. As far as hotels in Culver City are concerned, there is no better option.  So without further ado, I present the Culver Hotel, a very stylish stay.

What I Love: Glamorous and steeped in history, the Culver Hotel opened in 1924, and housed much of the cast of The Wizard of Oz when it was being filmed in Culver City. It is considered a historic landmark that feels like it could have been plucked from any charming European city.

Suite Dreams: Inspired by old Parisian apartments, the bed is ultra-comfy, the clawfoot tub is what bathtub dreams are made of, and the vanity is full of Gilchrist & Soames, one of my favorite bath-and-body brands.

Stylish Sips:  Even if you aren’t a hotel guest, afternoon tea is a must (the incredible pink trees were a bonus!), and so is the live nightly music when the lobby turns into a jazzy supper club. Order the Ruby Slipper.

Cool Factor: Culver City has become one of the hottest neighborhoods in LA, and is central to both the westside and downtown. It’s also the home of LA’s most Instagrammable shopping destination.

Hero Shot: In the crystal dining room with the black-and-white tile and chandeliers.

I’ve always loved this hotel, even before the gentrification of Culver City, for all the reasons you state. And you continue to outdo yourself with the gorgeous photography!!!

I would absolutely lurve that! Since I work almost every weekend, let me know if there are any work days which would be good for you.

  3. The Culver Hotel is one of my favorites in LA. That neighborhood is changing so fast and there are so many new hip spots, including the hotel bar. We love grabbing drinks there when we are in town. They have a live band sometimes on the weekend.
