Drinks at the Beekman Hotel

March 16, 2017

New  York, New York

I was in New York all last week for a press tour, and spent one day walking around Central Park without a coat, and the next day battling a snowstorm that left me in the city for an extra night! Through all the madness, I managed to meet up with several friends to eat the best fried chicken at The Dutch, tomato bread at Mario Batalli’s newest restaurant La Sierena (Pro tip: if you want to have Spanish tapas, they only serve them at the bar. I had to pitch a hissy fit for tomato bread in the main dining room.), and was treated to canelès at Dominique Ansel’s Bakery. But the crème de la crème was drinks at a new boutique hotel called The Beekman.

A Thompson Hotel, The Beekman is located in the Financial District, and was one of the most anticipated openings of last year. It’s not hard to see why. The vibe is moody. The cocktails are perfection. The design oozes style. It is a place to see and be seen—case in point, I ran into family friends from my hometown in the bar! I’m always blown away by the service in New York compared to LA. They actually seated me a full 20 minutes before my friend Jen arrived, and the restaurant—Augustine—just next door, managed to squeeze us in a corner table with no reservations. This is the newest addition to my Stylish Stays collection, and I cannot wait to go back and actually spend the night. Until then enjoy a little photo tour.

Except he would have grunted and said Mm..they saw you comin'! I smiled thinking about it. Still so worth it though! 🐠
