Avocado & Date Smoothie

I’ve been wanting to share this concoction with you for quite sometime, so when Williams-Sonoma reached out asking me to participate in their “Not Your Typical Smoothie” Week, it presented the perfect opportunity. If you’ve never tried avocado in a smoothie, let me be the first to blow your mind.  Frances Largeman-Roth’s book Eating in Color was my foray into this wild and crazy adventure, and to say that I’m obsessed would be putting it mildly.  I have since played around with ingredients and have created something that even my cow-milk intolerant household can enjoy.  It’s good for breakfast, but it’s even better around 4pm when you are slumped over your desk in desperate need of a pick me up. Santé!

PS. Did I mention you can get me one of these Vitamix Blenders for Christmas? I don’t know how I’ve lived this long without one. And if you’re in need of a new blender, Williams-Sonoma has a variety of options in every price range. Check em out>

This sounds so amazing! Do you think it would work with almond milk, which is what I have at home?

  2. You can certainly try…it might be a little thinner than you’d like, but let me know how it works! I’m sure it will taste great even without the yogurt. x
