Foodie Friday: ink.sack

It’s gonna be a hot one in LA this weekend everybody!  The outdoors is calling my name, much like a few weekends ago when we had one of the first warm Saturdays of the year. Not in the mood to fight the brunch crowds, I  called in an order at ink.sack, Michael Voltaggio’s sandwich shop to get one of their packed lunches to take to the park. This is not your usual deli, so get prepared for a C.L.T.-chicken liver mousse & curried chicken skin or a Veggie Banh Mi, bbq tofu, pickled vegetables & mushroom spread. Our selections were a little more tame, but the flavors were explosive and the prices were shockingly inexpensive.  If you haven’t had the chance to try ink., this is a great entre into the world of Chef Voltaggio—bringing his genius to the masses one bbq pork rind at a time.

The Spicy Tuna–miso-cured albacore w/ sriracha mayo ($6)

Cold Fried Chicken-house made ranch cheese, gindo’s spice of life ($4)

Everything comes packaged in little labeled lunch sacks—so cute!

ink.sack.  8360 Melrose Avenue #107,  Los Angeles, CA. 323-655-7225
