Our guest room is the one room that didn’t get a lot of love after our townhouse remodel. If you’ve ever remodeled, I’m sure you can relate to my delusions of grandeur (all new furniture! original art for the foyer!), and having to bear the sad reality that you went over budget and have to choose between putting a beam in the ceiling so the second floor doesn’t come crashing down OR a new bed for the guest room. Guys, I really wanted the bed, but my husband got his way this time. Now here we are five years later, and it was high time we spruce up this space.
Last year, I decided to upgrade the bedding in our master bedroom after returning home from a vacation spent in some of the best beds ever, and set out to make our bedroom feel like a boutique hotel. After a lot of research, I purchased Brooklinen Sheets—settling on the Brooklinen Hardcore Sheet Bundle, and can say without hesitation, they are perfect. They are extremely soft, OEKO-TEX certified (meaning free of harmful chemicals), and I love the sophisticated smoke stripe that adds a subtle something without taking away that crisp clean feeling that only white sheets can give.
When Brooklinen offered to send me sheets for my guest room, I jumped at the chance to give it a much-needed mini makeover. I say mini makeover because my husband still utilizes half the room for his office (city living, guys!), so while I wasn’t able to toss his desk out the window (a girl can dream!), I did buy a gorgeous new navy bed that was a complete steal, and a night stand. After careful consideration of the linen sheets before my best friend clued me in that I would then have to iron them, I decided to go with the exact same set that I have in the master—because why try to top perfection?

I think you will be shocked at just how affordable Brooklinen sheets are, which is really what sets them apart. At 480tc Egyptian Cotton, this is affordable luxury at its finest—something I am always seeking. Don’t you love that little pin stripe?! *The Hardcore Bundle includes a fitted sheet, a flat sheet, a duvet cover, and 2 pillowcases.
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen when I purchased the nightstand from Sunbeam Vintage in Highland Park. It was originally just brown, so I had them paint it Living Coral, which is Pantone’s color of the year for 2019. I don’t usually go for such a bold, trendy choice, but they had a Dorothy Draper dresser painted the same shade and it’s so gorgeous! All in, the nightstand painted was $350. I switched out the little knob to an acrylic and gold one that I think gave the perfect final flourish.
I loooove Turkish towels. They feel like such a luxury, which is why I decided to use them for the guest bathroom. I love that Brooklinen’s Hammam Towels not only look gorgeous, but they are actually absorbent, which is not always the case with these kinds of towels.
My sister-in-law is currently our first guest, and she said the bed feels like heaven! Enter code “molly10” to receive 10% off your order over $50.
